Gender পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:

Rule 1:

কিছু Masculine noun-কে সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন শব্দ ব্যবহার করে Feminine gender করা হয়।

Some masculine noun is changed into feminine gender by using ‍a completely different word:

Rule 2:

কিছু Masculine noun-এর শেষে “ess” যোগ করে Feminine gender করা হয়।

Some masculine noun is changed into feminine gender by adding “ess” at its end:

Lion	Lioness
Poet	Poetess
Author	Authoress
Host	Hostess
Jew	Jewess
Manager	Manageress
Priest	Priestess
Steward	Stewardess
Baron	Baroness
Count	Countess
Peer	Peeress

Rule 3:

কিছু Masculine noun-এর শেষের vowel তুলে সে স্থানে “ess” যোগ করে Feminine gender করা হয়।

Some masculine noun is changed into feminine gender by removing the vowel of its end and adding “ess” at that place:

Director	Directress
Instructor	Instructress

Rule 4:

কিছু Masculine noun-এর শেষে একটু ব্যতিক্রমীভিাবে “ess” যোগ করে Feminine gender করা হয়।

Some masculine noun is changed into feminine gender by adding “ess” at its end in an exceptional way. Such as:

Masculine	Feminine
Master	Mistress
Murderer	Murderess
Emperor	Empress
Abbot	Abbess
Mister	Miss
Duke	Duchess

Rule 5:

কিছু Masculine noun-কে Feminine gender করা হয় এর শেষে a, ine এবং ix যোগ করে।

Some masculine noun is changed into feminine gender by adding a, ine and ix at its end:

Masculine	Feminine
Sultan	Sultana
Hero	Heroine
Prosecutor	Prosecutrix
Proprietor	Proprietrix
Don	Dona
Signor	Signora

Rule 6:

Compound noun-এর পুরুষবোধক অংশকে Feminine করে এর gender পরিবর্তন করা হয়।

A compound noun’s masculine part is made feminine to change the gender:

Masculine	Feminine
Son-in-law	Daughter-in-law
Mankind	Womankind
Boy-baby	Girl-baby
Billy-goat	Nanny-goat
Bull-calf	Cow-calf
Male-child	Female-child

Rule 7:

Compound noun-এর দ্বিতীয় noun-টিকে Feminine করে এর gender পরিবর্তন করা হয়।

A compound noun’s second noun is made feminine to change the gender. Such as:

Masculine	Feminine
Gentleman	Gentlewoman
Landlord	Landlady
Great-uncle	Great-aunt
Step-brother	Step-sister
Peacock	Peahen
Fisherman	Fisherwoman

Rule 8:

o    প্রাকৃতিক কিছু সত্ত্বাকে শক্তির প্রতীক হিসেবে বিবেচনা করে তাদেরকে masculine হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়।

 Some natural entities are considered as masculine as being signs of power. Such as thunder, summer, death, sun, etc.

o    আবার প্রাকৃতিক কিছু সত্ত্বাকে সৌন্দর্য্য বা কোমলতার প্রতীক হিসেবে বিবেচনা করে feminine হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়।

Again some natural entities are considered as feminine as being signs of beauty or mildness. Such as night, moon, hope, peace, etc.

o    জাহাজ, দেশ, রেলগাড়ী প্রভৃতিকে সবসময় feminine হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়।

Ship, country, train, etc are always considered as feminine genders.

Such as We have some duty towards our country as we are blessed with her natural resources.

Rule 9:

কিছু noun সবসময় feminine হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়।

Some nouns are always considered as feminine. Such as serin, shrew, virgin, nurse, etc.

Rule 10:

কিছু noun সবসময় masculine হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Some nouns are always used as masculine. Such as judge, person, chairman, captain, etc.
